Castle Combo is a tableau-building game that blends elegant simplicity with deep strategic gameplay, delivering a rich and satisfying experience.
Throughout the game, players will spend coins to draft 9 cards from two open markets, the Lower City and the Upper City, gradually building a 3x3 grid of characters whose interactions create powerful combinations, instant effects, and end-of-game bonuses.
On each turn, you’ll add a new character to your tableau, a simple action that opens up a wealth of strategic possibilities. Managing your Keys wisely is essential, as they allow you to influence the Messenger pawn, which determines which characters, from humble peasants to influential nobles, are available for recruitment.
You’ll also need to balance your Gold reserves carefully to afford the most valuable characters and optimize your strategy. The key to success lies in selecting the right mix of characters, maximizing their immediate effects, and arranging them thoughtfully within your 3x3 tableau to unlock their full potential.
After nine rounds, when each player has completed their tableau of nine characters, the game ends. The player whose tableau earns the highest total score claims victory and the admiration of the entire kingdom.
