Welcome to the Roaring Twenties! In Gatsby, a two-player strategy game, you step into the roles of Dorothy Williams and James Miller, each vying to expand their influence and capture the attention of the legendary Jay Gatsby himself.
The game unfolds across three vibrant locations, the Cabaret, the Finance Center, and the Racetrack. Each offering unique ways to earn valuable character tiles.
On your turn, you’ll move the action marker to one of the four action spaces (never the one just used by your opponent) and then activate that action.
Your chosen action allows you to place two influence tokens on one or two locations, claiming characters in different ways depending on where you play:
-Cabaret: Create a continuous line of tokens from one side of the board to the other, or cover all four star icons at once.
-Finance Center: Use influence to climb the financial track and assert your dominance.
-Racetrack: Place tokens in the race lanes—control the most tokens on a line when it fills to claim that race’s rewards.
Each location also features special bonus spaces. Land on one to trigger powerful effects, such as swapping two tokens on the board, forcing your opponent into a specific action, or earning a valuable special action tile.
You’ll win immediately if you either control three characters of the same color or one character of each of the five colors. If all character tiles at a location are claimed before that happens, the victory goes to the player with the most stars on their collected characters..
